James T. McGovern joined Andrew M. Hale & Associates in 2011 after 9 years at the Corporation Counsel’s Office for the City of Chicago. James spent the first six years in the Torts Division defending the City and its employees in personal injury cases. From 2008 through 2010 James was in the Special Litigation Unit representing the City and its police officers in Civil Rights cases, excessive force and police shootings, and malicious prosecution claims. James is a member of the Illinois bar as well as the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court.
